It's that time of the year again.
My fondest memories of Valentine's Day was during my schooling days in girls schools. (I attended an all-girls school through my primary to secondary education years, yes! 10 years!). V'Day was pretty much a fun-filled day with everyone giving each other personalized note cards, baking cookies, brownies, cupcakes, gifting chocolates and stalks of flowers. We used to end the day, each carrying a little bag stuffed with treats. Back then, it was a day for us to tell our friends 'thank you for being there for me....XO XO XO XO'.
And yes, why should we wait for a designated day (commercialized by marketers (as one by occupation, I'm guilty as charged) to show our appreciation and love for our dear ones?
Despite all of this, I do think it's nice to have a day to remind ourselves that we should be showing our love and appreciation to those we care about. A little note, a handmade gift or taking the effort to say 'thank you', is a sweet gesture of appreciation. Nothing too fancy.
From me to you-
So what better way to combine them than a super cute heart-shaped mini pinata!
I wanted this to be a fun but cute gift, not too pricey and customizable.
The kind you could give your girlfriends and family.
Or the kind that you add on to your mega-pow-wow V'Day extravanganza planned for your other half. Tuck this into his bag as a surprise. Or leave it on the pillow as a teaser.
Each pinata is covered with fringed crepe paper & colors are customizable.
The topper on the front can be customized for your sweet messages. I'll also handletter a lil' note to be tucked into the pinata for your valentine to receive it with surprise!
PS. I do think this could be a cute proposal idea. Yay or Nay? :)
So, if you've noticed. I have an amazing affiliate baking partner, SugarByJ, who's my best friend and who bakes our amazing cakes & baked treats for our Dessert Carts & Tables. I make only our signature Dessert Shots (i.e. no bake goodies). Well, the reason is, I love baking but somehow, my end-products do not look super pretty (tho' they do taste pretty good at times!). So I've resigned myself to the fact that I make messy-but-yummy desserts.
HOWEVER, there is one thing I can bake pretty darn well & proudly say is my specialty. And that's my pavlovas.
For those who don't know what these babies are,
Pavlova is a meringue-based dessert named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. It is a meringue cake with a crisp crust and soft, light inside, usually topped with fruit and, optionally, whipped cream
AND THEY ARE THE MOST AMAZING TREATS EVER.
crisp on the outside, marshmallowy on the insides, topped with all sorts of indulgent creams, curds, compote, fruits, chocolate. <3
These are our Mango Passionfruit Curd Pavs which are super delish- sweet with a slight tart from the passionfruit, creamy and yet so light & refreshing.
Best part? They're only $5.90/pc and 2 for $10!
A great alternative from the usual cupcakes, cakes & cookies.
